Oct 9 – At home picked some Apples. Very warm the thermometer stands 101 in the sun at noon 90. in the shade went over to the burg and heard C. Stuart Lecture

Oct 13 – Commenced making my pump pipe Patty and Hellen[34] came up Taylor cleaned up buckwheat
Oct 14 – Went up to Taylors and got pump chain went over to the burg and got Lois[35] shoe mended took dinner with Bennett
Oct 15 – At home very smoky Looked over my things sowed wheat commenced draging Wesley finished Father went over to the burg and got his cow trough Fero moved
Oct 16 – So smoky we cant see one rod very bad for the lungs quite dark carried over one load of traps saw Caty W and Carle Earl
Oct 17 – Smoky as ever all well went down to Charles Lees[36] Catharine and Hellen was there
Oct 18 – Went over to the burg with a load of traps picked up apples Catharine Wing and Caroline Sheldon came here
